Day 1 - Arrive Anchorage

Monday, June 5th, 2017

Anchorage AlaskaWelcome to Anchorage! A city of contrasts where world-class hotels are a stone's throw from settlers' cabins; a moose may wander the neighborhoods and eagles soar majestically overhead. Anchorage, is the gateway to all that Alaska has to offer - glaciers, mountains, wildlife, and Native Alaskan culture.

Day 2 - Anchorage - Mt. McKinley

Tuesday, June 6th, 2017

Rostad group in AlaskaAfter breakfast, we board the train for our journey to Talkeetna and along the way we may catch a first view of North America’s largest mountain, the incredible Denali. Once we arrive at the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, the mountain is visible from nearly anywhere on the property. Take in the sensational views with a glass of wine in the Great Room or on the expansive deck. Dinner is included at the Mountain View Restaurant this evening.

Day 3 - Mt. McKinley

Mount McKinleyToday is a full day to enjoy the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. We will have ample time to both relax and explore. The nature trails around the grounds are a pleasant way to become familiar with the area, and the Princess staff are happy to assist us with other outdoor activity choices.

Day 4 - Mt. McKinley - Denali National Park

Thursday, June 8th, 2017

Denali Country SideThis morning we enjoy a scenic motorcoach drive to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, located just outside the national park entrance. Get to know the splendor of the park with one of a variety of activities including a husky homestead tour, fly fishing, or a glacier landing via helicopter. This evening, we are treated to the Music of Denali dinner theatre.

Day 5 - Denali National Park

Friday, June 9th, 2017

Denali Princess LodgeWe start the morning with a quick stop at the Music of Denali Theatre for a hearty buffet breakfast. Then, we explore spectacular Denali National Park on a Tundra Wilderness Tour. Admire 'The Great One' which is the name given to Alaska's 20,320 ft Mt. McKinley and North America's highest peak. Laced through the park are more than a dozen glaciers - have your cameras ready! This evening, we are treated to dinner at the King Salmon Restaurant.

Day 6 - Denali - Whittier - CruiseShip

Saturday, June 10th, 2017

Whittier, AlaskaToday we travel by motorcoach to the port at Whittier and our beautiful cruise ship. The community is also the gateway to spectacular Prince William Sound with its magnificent tidewater glaciers and abundant marine life. Once in Whittier we board the ship, settle into our cabins, and get ready for an unforgettable cruise.

Day 7 - Hubbard Glacier

Sunday, June 11th, 2017

Hubbard GlacierThe largest tidewater glacier in North America, Hubbard Glacier measures 76 miles long and plunges 1,200 feet into the depths of the bay. Its immense beauty and phenomenal blue hues are enchanting. When our cruise ship draws closer we see the towering surface dwarfing even the uppermost deck of the ship at a whopping 40 stories high. Here, where the snowcapped mountains serve as a glorious backdrop, we have a prime viewing spot of this amazing spectacle as well as the renowned wildlife including whales, harbour seals and a wide variety of seabirds that soar gracefully across the sky.

Day 8 - Glacier Bay National Park

Monday, June 12th, 2017

Cruising in Glacier BayToday is an unforgettable day of sailing through Glacier Bay National Park and its epic ice giants - part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS) comprising Alaska's magnificent park system. It boasts some of the world's most spectacular tidewater glaciers, such as the Margerie Glacier. During our scenic cruise friendly Park Rangers will join the ship to share their knowledge and may help identify the abundant wildlife, including humpback whales, sea otters and porpoises.

Day 9 - Skagway

Tuesday, June 13th, 2017

Princess ship in SkagwayThis morning brings us to Skagway at the northern end of the Inside Passage - the gateway to the gold fields of the Yukon. Memories of the gold rush are everywhere and we can watch as the locals dressed in 1890's costumes reinact the days of gold rush fever!

Day 10 - Juneau

Wednesday, June 14th, 2017

Juneau AlaskaEarly morning finds us docking in Juneau the state capital of Alaska, which lies on the shore of the Gastineau Channel with Mt. Juneau and Mt. Roberts towering above it. Here we can shop, sightsee and explore the narrow winding streets of this old pioneer town, and learn about its colourful history.

Day 11 - Ketchikan

Thursday, June 15th, 2017

View over KetchikanWe arrive in picturesque Ketchikan this morning. The town, which clings to the slopes of Deer Mountain, is built on pilings out over the water. Its rich Native heritage includes the world's oldest collection of totem poles at Totem Heritage Centre. The Haida, Tlingit and Tsimshian are all a part of the city's colourful history. We will be impressed with both the scenic town and its surroundings, especially Misty Fjords National Monument.

Day 12 - At Sea

Inside Passage AlaskaToday we enjoy our ship. Stay up-to-date with the latest onboard happenings noted on the daily newsletter, The Princess Patter.
